About Us

For over 160 years, Immanuel Lutheran Church has been a vibrant community of faith, trusting in the truth that God is good and that “God is with us.” Founded in 1862 by a devoted group of German Lutherans in Dundee, our congregation has grown while remaining committed to Christ-centered worship, learning, and service.

Our sanctuary, completed in 1886 atop VanBuren Hill, remains the heart of our ministry, and Immanuel Lutheran School, founded in 1911, continues to nurture children and families in faith, knowledge, and love.

Today, our congregation may look a little different than it did 160 years ago, but our mission remains the same: to draw people closer to Jesus Christ and share the gifts He gives: joy in this life and hope in the life to come.

We follow a simple, threefold pattern: Gather, Study, Serve. We gather for worship and fellowship, study God’s Word through Bible study and educational programs, and serve through various ministries, creating opportunities for everyone to grow in faith and live it out in the world.

What We Believe
