Immanuel youth ministry focuses on encouraging the faith journey of middle school and high school students as they gather, study and serve together. Throughout the year, events for middle and high school students are planned to encourage relationships and connect students through various activities. Through confirmation our youth will learn more about their faith and will be able to ask questions to help them better understand the life of faith God is calling them to.

Middle School
Middle school is an important time for students to grow in faith, build friendships, and discover what it means to follow Jesus. Throughout the year, Immanuel offers opportunities for middle school students to gather for fellowship, to study the Bible, and to have fun!
Middle school Bible Study meets each Sunday morning from 9:15–10:15 AM (September–May). We begin with families and adults gathering in Luther Hall for refreshments and fellowship before the youth head to the Youth Room.
Events are planned periodically throughout the year and may include activities, outings, and opportunities to connect with other students in a Christ-centered community. We encourage all middle school students to watch for upcoming events and join us as we learn, laugh, and grow together in faith.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a three-year journey of growing in faith and learning what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus. Beginning as early as 6th grade, students are invited to explore God’s Word, the teachings of the Lutheran faith, and how we live out our faith in daily life.
Confirmation instruction takes place in our Lutheran Day School. For students who do not attend our Day School, Confirmation meets on Wednesday evenings from 5:30–6:30 PM, September–May, at Immanuel. Each year builds on the one before:

The Bible — Students explore the story of Scripture, learning how God’s Word reveals His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Lutheran Doctrine — Students study the teachings of the Christian faith through Luther’s Small Catechism, learning the core beliefs and promises of the Lutheran Church.

Christian Living — Students discover how God’s Word shapes everyday life as they grow in faith, serve their neighbors, and live as disciples of Jesus.
Throughout the program, students are encouraged to develop habits of Christian living by participating in worship, serving others, and spending time in God’s Word. To help foster these practices, students complete Worship, Service, and Devotion forms as they progress through the program as well as help serve in an Advent and Lenten meal.
We are grateful to partner with families as students grow in faith and prepare to publicly confess that faith as members of Christ’s Church.

High School
High school is a time of growing in faith, asking important questions, and discovering how Christ calls us to live in the world. Our High School Youth ministry exists to encourage students to stay rooted in God’s Word, build lasting Christian friendships, and grow as disciples of Jesus.
Students gather weekly for Bible study, discussion, and fellowship as they continue to deepen their understanding of the Christian faith. Throughout the year, they also serve their neighbors through service projects, participate in mission trips, and attend youth gatherings that strengthen their faith and connect them with other youth.
