Meet Mrs. Dougherty

I’ve been teaching here at Immanuel since 1997, and I still love every minute of it!

I hold a Master's in Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy, with a special passion for literacy — nothing beats watching a kid crack the reading code. I am energized by exploring and discovering with my first graders as we connect with the wonder of God's creation, right alongside everything we learn in the classroom and beyond.

As Admissions Director, I love showing families around and helping them fall in love with Immanuel the way I did — I'm a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and a proud 4th generation Immanuel alum.

Outside of school, you'll find me directing student operettas, gardening, or enjoying life with my husband since 1999 and our three kids (5th generation ILS alum). Teaching, welcoming, growing — that's just what I do!
