Meet Mrs. King

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors in Education. I met my husband and moved to Illinois in 2000. I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade in Schiller Park. Then I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University.

I started subbing at Immanuel when my children were little and loved it so much I decided to stay. I have been teaching 6th grade here since 2014. I then earned my Colloquy from Concordia River Forest to be a called LCMS teacher. Getting to teach middle school here at Immanuel and teach my students about Jesus and his love for them is a blessing!

I have two sons who graduated from Immanuel and were very involved in sports. Cameron plays baseball for college at Florida National University and Brandon plays golf in high school. The education they received here at Immanuel helped them be successful in high school and beyond and most importantly helped them stay strong in their faith.

I also coach cross country and enjoy helping our young athletes become better runners and leaders in their sport. I can't wait for another year of watching our students grow in their faith and academics. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching my students grow into stronger, more confident writers!
