Meet Mrs. Pieper

Since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher. Following in my Dad's footsteps, I attended Concordia University in River Forest. I received a degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Music and a concentration in Science. I taught for a year in Hemlock, Michigan at St. Peter Lutheran School before coming home to Illinois and teaching another 7 years at Immanuel Lutheran. I directed choirs, handbells and was co-music director. I also taught 7th grade and then 4th grade.

After 8 years of teaching, I stayed at home to raise 4 children. During that time, I taught preschool music for 10 years, continued to direct handbells, taught piano lessons, played organ at several different churches, subbed in the classrooms at Immanuel, and was the director of parish music at St. Peter Lutheran church in Gilberts for 15 years. Eventually all our children were in elementary school, and I began subbing on a more regular basis. One of our teachers needed my help, and I jumped into the 3rd grade teaching position for 1 1/2 years while she recovered. I then accepted a call to teach fourth grade after the 4th grade teacher retired.

I have been teaching fourth grade for the last 5 years and I love sharing the joy of Jesus with the students! My favorite part of teaching is connecting with the students, and seeing their relationship grow with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray from each child and I enjoy seeing the academic, spiritual and creative sides of each student thrive. Each child is a gift and a blessing! What a joy it is to have the opportunity to be a part of each of their journies through life! To God be the glory!
