Meet Ms. Heinisch

I was born in Montgomery, Illinois, and have been involved in Lutheran churches and schools since I was born. I attended St. Paul Lutheran in Aurora before heading to public high school. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in Education from Valparaiso University. After graduation, I took a semester-long position in a Lutheran school near where I grew up and fell in love with Lutheran education - except this time, from a teacher's point of view!

I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and middle school positions throughout my time as an educator. I have also always been active in sports - both watching and playing. My primary sports are ultimate frisbee and volleyball. I coach boys volleyball and track here at Immanuel. I am in the finishing stages of obtaining my colloquy from the Concordia University System, and I look forward to using it in the classroom.

I am very excited to return to middle school science this year! My favorite thing about teaching science is the connections to be found between our faith in God and science. My goal in my classroom is to prepare students for life post-Immanuel, whether it be in the classroom or out of it. I am so excited for another year of teaching and the memories and learning to be had!
